A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a typographical error. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited emails, but this problem can be resolved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also vital to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward inbound email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

Configuring a catch-all email mailbox will be pretty easy if you have a cloud hosting service with us. You can enable this option through our advanced, yet easy-to-work-with Email Manager, which is built into the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage the shared web hosting account itself. You will find all the email addresses that you have set up shown in alphabetical order and on the right-hand side of each of them there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately show you whether a certain mailbox stores all the emails pertaining to a given domain or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this feature at any moment. If there is enabled email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a certain domain, you will get a warning notice from our system. The latter will not disable/replace anything automatically and without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The custom-built Hepsia Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will permit you to set up a catch-all e-mailbox without effort even if you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be next to each email address that you have created with your domain names in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. As you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will notify you if you have already created a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding activated. In case you reach the decision that you do not want this feature anymore, you can turn it off by clicking again on the same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
